Fall tree well decorations

I was out this weekend at the Huffines Art Fair in Richardson, Texas, and couldn't resist taking pictures of these adorable fall decorations around the trees.  Pumpkins, mum, and kale add so much!

Decorating with denim

Just as it does in our wardrobe, denim goes with everything. You can dress denim up or dress it down; it always seems to work. So whether your interior is a seaside cottage, eclectic mix or you simply need something new for a children's room, denim may just be the fabric for you.

Decorating with a flat screen TV

Finally — an end to huge furniture pieces attempting to hide the television!  We couldn't pay someone to take our old armoire away and after installing our flat screen TV on the wall it really opened up the space and made the room feel much more spacious.

In the examples above you notice that the TV can be the center of attention or hidden between books and shelves.  Either way I love the clean slate and clutter free look.

Mamie's master bedroom ideas

I mentioned in an earlier post that my mom, Mamie, is doing some updating to her darling home and one of the rooms she is focused on is the master bedroom.  The following rooms are very inspiring.

Each of these lovely rooms has a soft, neutral palette.  I like how they have placed some type of art or focal point above the headboards.  The soft window treatments really add a finishing touch and warmth to the room.   Nice, substantial lamps are another feature that completes these rooms.  Here is a peek at Mamie's room and how easy it would be to achieve a new look.  (first up, a flat screen tv!)

A touch of zebra

I do love a neutral pallet , but a little touch of zebra really helps to add some interest to that look.

A fun way to add whimsy to every type of decor, zebra print is popping all over the place. On pillows, rugs and even upholstery. And with its neutral colors, zebra print is easier to incorporate than you may think. Go ahead, add a little stripe to your life!

Small bedroom...ideas?

I am trying to come up with some simple, small bedroom ideas and love these.  Master or guest suite!

Wisteria Outlet

I have blogged before about how happy I am that we live near the Wisteria Outlet!  It has moved to a bigger and better location and is full of beautiful things.  Take a look.

White holiday decor

I am always drawn to white interiors, even when it comes to holiday decorating.  Love the flocked trees, white candles and crystal accessories.

Rustic Retreat in North Carolina

 

Cashiers, North Carolina was once a rain forest and is set in a valley in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains.  This home is cozy and airy and very inviting - rustic yet refined.  The natural colors and large porch are my favorite parts of this home.

Cool change

After a long, hot summer here we had a beautiful cool snap and I became inspired to put out my fall accessories.  I think between the heat, kids home, and activities I put blogging on the back burner.  I'm hoping the cool change will keep me inspired.  Here are some great ideas to do around your home.

Just by adding a few mums, pumpkins, corn, and candles you can create a warm and cozy look for Fall.
