Black doors

Black doors are classic and elegant whether they are on the front door or inside the house.  Picking just the right black is just as hard as picking the right white.  The white contrast really makes the black pop!

Black outs

Because of the unusually low temperatures and overwhelming amount of energy being used, our part of Texas is enforcing periodic blackouts.  This inspired me to blog about some pretty black rooms!

I'm typically drawn to the creamy, natural look, but sure do love all of these rooms done in black.  I hope you are all staying inside where it is warm.  (no school today either)

Whites spaces with dark accents

I was browsing through Canadian House and Home looking at rooms bathed in white and noticed how some of my favorites had dark accents.  Whether a pop of black on a pillow, lamp shade or piece of furniture the dark color gives the rooms a rich feel.

Loss

Our family is grieving the loss of my husband's brother and it has been a pretty intense, rough week.  Hopefully after the services today we can attempt to get back to a new normal.
