Love...Brad Ellis

 Dallas artist, Brad Ellis, has paintings in local galleries as well as Neiman Marcus.  I love the texture of these and the large pieces that he has done.

Brad Ellis works mostly with the encuastic paint technique. Encaustic is a labor intensive endeavor but one that can render exciting results. The paint is heated into a liquid state, applied to the surface and then fused with a heat source for proper bonding. The paint can be mixed and applied in a very transparent or opaque manner resulting in a glass-like smoothness or a rough, heavily textured surface. As well, encaustic may also be combined with oil paint and collage materials.

Things have been very busy lately, as we are planning our first wedding.  The wedding will be in May and I m loving all phases of the planning.  Had a meeting yesterday with a florist.  As I was waiting on my contact to see me, I couldn't resist taking a few pictures.

dr. delphinium designs and events has been in Dallas, TX for over 20 years and offers the most beautiful florals and events I've seen.  It was voted D Magazine "Best Florist in Dallas" for 2010.  I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with for our daughter's wedding. :}

Dallas farmers market

Last weekend we made a stop at the Dallas farmers market and bought home lots of fresh produce.  It all looked so fresh and tasted delicious.

The Dallas Farmers Market is where the locals go for the freshest produce, much of it grown right here in Texas.  In one convenient downtown location, you can support Texas farmers and take home healthy, nutritious vegetables and fruits.

Snow Beautiful

We don't get a lot of snow in the Dallas area so I had to capture the moment while I could.  We've had 6 inches so far, with more through out the evening.  Very pretty!

Dallas Art Fair

Over 5,500 guests attended the inaugural Dallas Art Fair in February 2009. Located at the Fashion Industry Gallery -- adjacent to the Dallas Museum of Art in the revitalized downtown arts district -- the 2010 Dallas Art Fair will feature over 50 prominent art dealers from across North America exhibiting paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints, and photographs by modern and contemporary artists.

If you live in the area, I highly recommend you try to stop by.  You will be impressed!
